About iGeeks Media
iGeeks Media (iGM) is a technology-focused media production house with over 10 years of experience in publishing online blogs centered around Apple. Recently, they expanded their scope to create original tech content for social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter. The company operates under two different accounts: iGeeksBlog, which primarily covers Apple-related topics, and Geekified, which focuses on Android and Windows content both primarily in English.
Initially, content production thrived; however, issues arose due to some questionable improv decisions that led to significant subscriber and follower losses for both accounts. That’s when I joined the team...
My Role At iGeeks
I joined iGeeks Media on June 5, 2023, as their Cinematographer. My initial responsibility was to revamp the visual style of all social media content across various platforms, including Instagram reels, YouTube videos, feature images, and more. I successfully enhanced the production quality of our content, resulting in a noticeable increase in views.
Later, our team decided to launch a tech channel aimed at a local audience to broaden our viewer base. I was part of the core team managing the production for this new channel alongside our existing two accounts. It was a challenging endeavor, but we managed to grow this third channel from zero followers to over 275k in just a year, which was incredibly rewarding.
However, due to unexpected layoffs within the team, my responsibilities quickly expanded. I transitioned from managing production and inventory to planning content, scripting videos, and eventually overseeing all social media accounts. My journey with iGeeks has felt extensive, but I have accomplished a great deal and enjoyed being a valuable and engaging part of the team. And Here are some insights as to what I achieved there...
